Evaluating the Efficacy and Impact of a Pilot Programme for FAIR Data Stewardship at a UK University

This study evaluates a pilot program for FAIR data stewardship at the University of Sheffield. The methodology involved assessing the program's impact through interviews, surveys, and data analysis. Key findings indicate that the program improved researchers' understanding and adoption of FAIR principles, leading to more findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable data. The significance lies in providing a model for other UK universities to follow, as the country lags behind in institutional-level data stewardship infrastructure. Limitations include the small scale of the pilot and the need for long-term evaluation to fully capture the program's impact.
