PlantXMamba is a novel hybrid model that combines Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and a structured State Space Model (SSM) called Mamba. This approach allows the model to simultaneously extract local and global contextual features, improving both accuracy and interpretability. Extensive experiments on diverse datasets, including Maize, Rice, Apple, Embrapa, and PlantVillage, demonstrate the effectiveness and generalizability of the proposed method. The lightweight architecture makes PlantXMamba suitable for deployment on mobile or edge devices, enabling early disease detection and efficient crop management in smart agriculture applications.
