Uncover the hidden signs of cognitive decline in Parkinson's with the revised MBI Checklist - a powerful tool to identify patients at risk and unlock new paths for early intervention.
This study validated the Mild Behavioral Impairment Checklist (MBI-C) for use in Parkinson's disease (PD). The original 34-item MBI-C exhibited floor effects, so the researchers developed a revised 24-item version with 5 factors. The revised MBI-C demonstrated strong psychometric properties, including good internal consistency, convergent validity, and moderate concurrent validity with the Neuropsychiatric Inventory. Importantly, the MBI-C was able to identify a cutoff score associated with cognitive impairment in PD. These findings suggest the MBI-C is a valuable ancillary instrument for assessing neuropsychiatric symptoms and cognitive decline in PD, enabling earlier detection and intervention.
